Today, we’re back with the second post in our Why BrightEdge?  series, where we highlight a few of our superstar employees, find out why they chose BrightEdge, and what makes them tick. This week, Director of Program Management Stephen Jang shares his thoughts on BrightEdge’s culture of collaboration, technical innovation, and his hobby as an amateur barber.

Why did you choose to join the BrightEdge team?
For me, it came down to several factors:
1) Having been part of three startups a long time ago, I wanted to be a part of a startup again.
2) BrightEdge has a culture of collaboration, and we try to improve how we collaborate every day.
3) BrightEdge has an impressive record of meeting financial and development milestone accomplishments.

What is your role, and how did you get to where you are today?
I’m the Director of Program Management. Over the past year, I’ve worked with our CTO to improve engineering’s efficiency without disrupting our culture. Prior to BrightEdge, for about 12 years, I managed large-scale implementation projects for financial services organizations.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I enjoy seeing the direct benefits of my work, from improving operational efficiencies to delivering awesome new features for our customers.

What are your interests outside of work?
I love spending time with my family and enjoy going on local hikes.

What’s a fun fact about yourself?
I’ve been cutting my own hair for about 15 years saving me over $5,000 (which I end up spending on coffee).

What are you most passionate about?
I’m most passionate about inspiring others to transform into their maximum potential and achieve their goals.

What do you love about your coworkers?
I love that my coworkers are eager to help regardless of their title. I love that they are willing to rally together to accomplish great things!
